IELTS Vocabulary

As you probably know, building a strong vocabulary is one of the best moves you can make for the IELTS.

For IELTS Academic Task 1, you need to analyze a chart, graph or process.

Marginally is a great word you can use to talk about change.

Example:

The production of widgets fell marginally between 1989 and 1999.

Thus, there was only a slight or negligible change.

IELTS Grammar

Do you know how to use Fewer and Less correctly in your sentences?

Answer:

We wear less clothing in hot weather.

But...We wear fewer clothes in hot weather.

____________

credit:

Use fewer if you’re referring to people or things in the plural (e.g. houses, newspapers, dogs, students, children).

Use less when you’re referring to something that can’t be counted or doesn’t have a plural (e.g. money, air, time, music, rain).

______________

Even though grammar is not explicitly graded on the exam, be sure to devote part of your IELTS preparation to studying your weak points of grammar.
