ontap 300 3 300x300 Do idioms confuse you? Our post today will help.

We feature an occasional highlight of a presentation that has attracted a f attention.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the reaction to our Twisted Business English series.

Twisted Business English

We take a business news headline that has a “twist.”

Headline writers are quite clever, or at least try to be.

In our presentation below, headline writers used the idiom “on tap.”

Read the presentation to find out why.

Idioms

Idiomatic expressions flummox many learners of English.

Idioms, in short, are phrases where the words together have a meaning that is different from the dictionary definitions of the individual words.

#Book #Review Audio Rewind - Rise of Indian-American Elite

Indian-Americans have made great strides in US society as successful business professionals.

Listen to the prologue of The Billionaire's Apprentice: The Rise of The Indian-American Elite and The Fall of The Galleon Hedge Fund called "an incredible tale of triumph, temptation and tragedy."

The gripping story of the collapse of the Galleon Group hedge fund is a whodunit of financial scandal wrapped within a cultural analysis focusing on the South Asian business community .

Raghavan weaves a narrative full of fascinating characters and interesting plot twists surrounding the criminal charges of insider trading which pitted prosecutor Preet Bharara, the son of Indian immigrants, against some of the best and brightest of the Indian-American business elite.

However, at times, it appears the author is overwhelmed by the mass of information needed to prosecute the trial.

Vivdly describing hubris and its suffering turn out to be author's greatest accomplishments in recounting the story of the rise of the Indian-American elite.

Read the tale on your Fire HD 7 ereader.
