If two English verbs give students fits, it is do and make.
Students of English whose native tongue is a Romance language - Portuguese, French, Spanish, Italian, and Romanian - often have difficulty choosing between make and do.
Stop!
There is a clear difference between the two words which seem to confuse students of English.
You simply need to learn the do-make collocation and remember these fixed phrases in the English language to successfully use do-make correctly.
